Watch for *Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae *in the pigsty. In fact, animals can contract pneumonia after being infected with this bacterium. The bacteria can be controlled with drugs, but it is better to take preventive actions through management measures. Therefore, check regularly to see if pigs are infected.
Prevention is always better than cure
Once infected, pigs may suffer from pneumonia. Symptoms include fever and a lot of coughing; it is also referred to as a typical mycoplasma cough. Animals spread the bacteria through direct contact (nose-to-nose contact). Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae can be tackled with drugs, but they are expensive, while the pigs' growth is reduced and feed conversion decreases. That's why you don't want this bacteria in your yard.
